Removal, Replacement and Disposal of Doors at Park Police Academy

The NY State Park Police Academy Headquarters (Academy) is a paramilitary training facility. The academy is a secure, residential campus dedicated to preparing recruits for service in New York's State Parks. The facility is a self-contained campus with controlled access, suitable for the disciplined, residential nature of police training.

The Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP) is seeking the removal, in-kind replacement and disposal of six (6) steel gauge doors and frames at the Academy. Each door must meet all the following specifications:

• Doors must be replaced per The American National Standards (ANSI) Standard A250.8: Standard for Commercial Steel Doors, Specifically, Level 3 (Extra Heavy-Duty) For applications requiring more robust security.

• Must be installed with a new frame.
• Be able to house existing Best Lock Small Format Interchangeable Core (SFIC), 7-PIN Core Mechanism system. OPRHP maintenance already has this for each door and will perform installation of locks.
• Be installed with a Push Bar Exit Device.
• A 16 x 34 kick plate must be installed on the inside of each door.
• Be installed with an aluminum door closer capable of handling the door size and gauge.
• Have weather stripping installed.
• Be primed for painting (final painting to be completed by OPRHP).
• Include all Hinges

The awarded vendor must have the availability to commence work upon receipt of a Purchase Order. All doors (Project) must be installed no later than 60 calendar days after receipt of Purchase Order.

Contractor must inform OPRHP prior to commencing work to discuss work plans and scheduling. It is recognized that weather and other variables may cause schedules to be adjusted. Work must be performed during the hours of 7:00 AM through 6:00 PM Monday through Friday, excluding State Holidays.

Removal and installation of any single door must be completed within the same day. Door must be able to open, close and be ready for the lock to be installed by OPRHP.

The Site Visit will be held during the time period indicated in the Timeline of Events above. Attendance at the Site Visit is mandatory. Proposals who did not attend the site visit Vendors will not be accepted. Vendors must notify the designated contact listed on the RFQ to schedule a visit.

Vendors must use the question-and-answer period to advise of any discrepancies not included in this RFQ.
