Bid No. 25-152 – Redevelopment of Magazine Park

THIS PROJECT IS BEING ELECTRONICALLY BID AND HARD COPY BIDS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Please review the instructions in the bid documents on how to register as an electronic bidder. The bids are to be prepared and submitted at www.biddocsonline.com.

The City through its Department of Parks, Buildings & Recreation Management is seeking bids for temporary sediment & erosion controls, earthwork, drainage, paved walkways, construction of basketball courts and baseball field, installation of owner-furnished elements including splash pad equipment, playground, pavilion, site furnishings, site lighting, irrigation, and landscaping at Magazine Park. Estimated cost of the project is $1,200,000.00. This bid falls under M.G.L. Ch. 30§39M and other procurement statutes.

Bids for Prime/General Contractor will be received until 2:00 PM on April 9, 2025, publicly opened, forthwith online.

Site Visit: Bidders are strongly encouraged to attend a site visit at 65 Magazine Street, Springfield MA 01109 scheduled for March 26, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. Contact: Anja Duffy, GZA, Inc; anjaduffy@gza.com with inquiries concerning the pre-bid site visit. This meeting will provide an opportunity for interested parties to inspect the site and all particulars and resolve questions regarding the scope of work, existing conditions and the specifications. Questions must be submitted in writing to the City (nwalker@springfieldcityhall.com) by close of business on March 28, 2025 in order to be considered.

Bid Forms and Contract Documents will be available March 19, 2025 at www.biddocs.com (may be viewed electronically and downloaded at no cost) or hard copies may be purchased at Nashoba Blue, Inc. at 433 Main Street, Hudson, MA 01749 (978-568-1167).

The City of Springfield goal of twenty percent (20%) MWBE participation applies. Massachusetts Division of Occupational Safety Prevailing Wage rates apply. The Chief Procurement Officer/Designee reserves the right to waive any informality in, or to revoke, any or all bids, if in the public interest to do so.
