Solicitation Summary

The City of Gaithersburg is seeking Bids to establish a unit price contract with a qualified Contractor to provide construction services for the City’s Quince Orchard Shared Use Path Project as well as perform reconstruction improvement work as indicated. The work includes installation of a new shared use path, replacement of curbs, sidewalks and aprons, stormwater improvements, lighting and other related work as described herein. The design drawings and specifications are attached hereinafter referred to as (Plans and Specifications).

The City of Gaithersburg, Department of Public Works is advancing the construction of a 10-foot Shared Use Path from Firstfield Road to Firstfield Road, on Quince Orchard Boulevard. In addition, a shared use path extension along Rabbitt Road to the Robertson Park Youth Center. The goal of the project is to reconstruct the roadway, curb, sidewalk and aprons and associated work as this roadway has been impacted by tree roots and other needed maintenance items.

The estimated duration of Construction of the project to include final acceptance and administrative “close out” is 485 calendar days or less .
