Work includes: demolition & disposal of existing surface, any associated site work in preparation of new surface, and installation of a poured-in-place rubber surfacing with thickness that is appropriate for the usage of the existing play structures on site. Approximate square footage is six thousand eight hundred (6,800).

NOTICE OF INFORMAL BID
Sealed proposals for the work shown on the plans entitled: PYRAMID PLAY SURFACE
IMPROVEMENTS (“Project”), City Project No. 25-19, will be received electronically by the
City Contact’s email address until Wednesday, December 17, 2025, 2:00PM PST.
The Contractor shall possess a valid Class A and/or Class C-15 valid California contractor’s
license at the time this contract is awarded.
Bids are required for the entire work described herein. This contract is subject to the State contract
nondiscrimination and compliance requirements pursuant to Government Code Section 12990.
The City of Union City is seeking to hire a qualified contractor to provide services to replace

Site is open during regular business hours. Interested parties are welcome to visit to assess
conditions further.

Minimum wage rates for this project as predetermined by the Secretary of Labor are set forth in
the special provisions. If there is a difference between the minimum wage rates predetermined by
the Secretary of Labor and prevailing wage rates determined by the Department of Industrial
Relations for similar classifications of labor, the contractor and his subcontractors shall pay not
less than the higher wage rates.
Pursuant to Section 1773 of the Labor Code, the general prevailing rate of wages in the county in
which the work is to be done has been determined by the Director of the wage rates appear in the
Department of Transportation publication entitled General Prevailing Wage Rates, (current semi-
annual which have been predetermined and are on file with the Department of Industrial Relations
are referenced but not printed in said publication.
