Purchase and Delivery of Personal Watercrafts with Trailers

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) is soliciting bids for the purchase and delivery of ten (10) personal watercraft (PWC) and five (5) trailers for the transportation of each pair. Personal watercraft (PWC’s) are utilized by NYS DEC Law Enforcement for varied response and patrol missions. PWC’s are capable of being deployed by a single officer for routine patrols. These watercraft are capable of operating in shallower water than a typical patrol vessel, which make them ideal for operating on small bodies of water and rivers. The versatility of these craft make them capable of operating in flood zones for search and rescue. DLE will be purchasing units with built in down scanning sonar, which will assist in equipment and victim searches on the bottoms of waterbodies. DLE intends to replace ten (10) PWC’s that are a 2002 model year. These are well beyond their service life and have become too expensive to maintain.
