Overview of Services
Dougherty County School System is seeking a firm to provide contract Special Education Teachers
(Adaptive and General Curriculum) and Paraprofessionals.
Background
The Exceptional Students Program supports the mission of the Dougherty County School System by
creating a stimulating climate in which all students will pursue excellence, take responsibility for their
lives, and contribute positively to their families, schools, society, environment, and the global community.
Scope of Work
Special Education (SE) Teachers will provide instruction, accommodations, and support for students with
disabilities as outlined in their Individualized Education Program (IEP). SE Teacher will conduct IEP
meetings, collaborate with general education teachers and other staff, as well as develop and implement
the IEP Plan to ensure benefit from the general education curriculum to the greatest extent possible when
supported.
Special Education Paraprofessionals will assist, support and work closely with the Special Education
teachers, administrators, and other team members in providing instructional/behavioral support to
students with disabilities.
All staff must meet GA certification requirements and be available for in-person/on-site instruction with
DCSS students, have experience working with students with disabilities, and be knowledgeable of IEP
development and implementation. Vendors must provide number of candidates currently available in the
proposal.
Time Frame
July 1, 2026 - June 30, 2027
General Requirements
Approximately 14 Special Education Paraprofessionals (P-12)
Approximately 1 Special Education Teacher (Adaptive and General Curriculum P-12)
A pricing plan, including:
An hourly rate for Special Education Teachers (Adaptive and General Curriculum) and
Paraprofessionals.
Please include all costs pertaining to preparation and delivery in the rates provided.
Presentation of Proposal
Failure to comply with presentation requirements may result in disqualification. All proposals shall be
submitted in pronged presentation folders, not glued, stitched, or spiraled, etc. Proposals must be neatly
presented and organized in tabs as follows:
