Public Works Quonset Structure Demolition and Removal

The City of Melfort is requesting proposals from qualified contractors for the demolition and removal of the existing Public Works Quonset located at 202 Division Street, Melfort, Saskatchewan.

The project includes the demolition and removal of the existing approximately 40 ft x 80 ft wood-framed Quonset structure, associated building materials, and the existing perimeter grade beam. The successful contractor will be responsible for all labour, equipment, traffic control, disposal, site restoration, and related work necessary to complete the project.

The existing Quonset, originally constructed in 1960, has been identified as structurally deficient through a recent engineering assessment and is scheduled for removal as part of the City's PW26-11 Public Works Quonset Replacement Project.

The City intends to retain the existing concrete slab for potential future reuse. Contractors will be required to take appropriate measures to protect the slab during demolition activities and complete any required grading and site restoration following removal of the structure.
