Public Works Facility Mezzanine

Sealed Bids for the Public Works Facility Mezzanine will be received by the City of Chesterfield Department of Public Works, 690 Chesterfield Pkwy W, Chesterfield, Missouri, 63017-0760 until 2:00pm (prevailing central time) on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 and will thereafter be publicly opened and read aloud.

The project consists of interior renovations to the existing Public Works Facility at 165 Public Works Drive with work including but not limited to, general construction, structural, plumbing, heating, ventilating+air conditioning and air distribution, as delineated within the Drawing and Specifications with the purpose of adding a mezzanine and reconfiguring existing storage and equipment space for a complete and usable project. The awarded Contractor shall have 165 days from the date of Notice to Proceed to complete the project. Notice to Proceed is anticipated to be given on April 15, 2024 which yields a project completion date of September 27, 2024.

A pre-bid conference will be held at the Public Works Facility at 165 Public Works Drive on January 23, 2024 at 2:00pm. The work area will be available for inspection after the pre-bid conference. Not less than the prevailing hourly rates of wages as found by the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations of the State of Missouri, or determined by court on appeal, shall be paid to all workers performing work under this Contract.

Bidders are informed that pursuant to Section 285.530, RSMo, as a condition of the award of any contract in excess of five thousand dollars ($5,000.00), the successful bidder shall, by sworn affidavit and provision of documentation, affirm its enrollment and participation in a federal work authorization program with respect to the employees working in connection to the contracted services. Successful bidders shall also sign an affidavit affirming that they do not knowingly employ any person who is an unauthorized alien in connection to the contracted services.

Contractors and sub-contractors who sign a contract to work on a public works project shall provide a ten (10) hour OSHA construction safety program, or similar program approved by the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations, to be completed by their on-site employees within sixty (60) days of beginning work on the construction project.

Each bid must be accompanied by a cashier's check or certified check, or a Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and an approved surety company and payable to the City, in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the sum total of the base bid.

The City reserves the right to reject any and all Bids, to waive informalities therein, to determine the lowest and best bid as determined in the sole discretion of the City.
