Public Safety Upgrades at East Side Pump Station

The Gardiner Dam is located on the South Saskatchewan River which originates in the Rocky Mountains of southern Alberta and northwest Montana. The Gardiner Dam diverts water from the South Saskatchewan River into the Qu’Appelle River. The lake impounded by Gardiner Dam is known as Lake Diefenbaker. It is part of the South Saskatchewan River Project (SSRP) and is one of the largest embankment dams in the world. The East Side Pump Station is located at the northeast end of the lake and pumps water from Lake Diefenbaker to the M1 Canal.

The scope of work is to provide contracting services to:

1. Provide Care of Water as required to complete the work
2. Supply and install new safety/debris boom upstream of the East Side Pump Station (ESPS) structure
3. Supply and install Public Interaction Around Dams safety upgrades including but not limited to:
   1. Signage.
   2. Reflectors

WSA is a Treasury Board Crown corporation within the meaning of The Crown Corporations Act, 1993 (Saskatchewan) that is governed by The Water Security Agency Act (Saskatchewan). WSA is responsible for water management in the Province of Saskatchewan, which includes managing the Province’s water supply, protecting water quality, ensuring safe drinking water and the treatment of wastewater, reducing flood and drought damage, protecting aquatic habitat, and managing dams and related supply channels.
