PUBLIC HEARING

Public Hearing for the Town of Hempstead and its participation in the Nassau

County Urban County Consortium will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2025,

6:00 P.M, Nathan L.H. Bennett Pavilion, Hempstead Town Hall, Town Hall

Plaza, Hempstead, New York. Notice is hereby given that the Department of

Planning and Economic Development of the Town of Hempstead will conduct a

Public Hearing, open to the public with respect to the Town’s Community

Development Program and as a participant in the Nassau County Consortium.

The Town has been notified by Nassau County that it has been given an allocated

Community Development Block Grant of approximately $3,000,000.00 for the

51st 2025-2026 Program Year under the United States Housing and Development

Act. The Hearing is held to provide residents with information concerning the

Town’s Community Development Program, its position in the Consortium; the

provision of the Act; and guidelines of the United States Department of Housing

and Urban Development which administers the intentions of the Act. Residents

are also given the opportunity to express their view, suggestions, and questions

for clarification and offer their recommendations.
