PUBLIC AUCTION COUNTY OF UNION
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF ABANDONED MOTOR VEHICLES BY THE UNION COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH N.J.S.A. 39:10A-1
Whereas, N.J.S.A. 39:10A-1 ET SEQ. permits the Police Department or its representatives to auction or sell vehicles, at a public place, after notice of the sale, shall have been published, in a newspaper circulating in the County of Union and after such local government shall have authorized by resolution such sale; and
Whereas, the Police Department has accumulated EIGHTEEN (18) such vehicles;
Now Therefore Be It Resolved, by the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Union, that the Union County Police is authorized to conduct a sale or auction at which time vehicles that have been accumulated by the Police Department’s towing representatives may be sold. The monies realized from such sale shall be used to cover storage costs and be turned over to the County of Union Finance Director,
Be It Further Resolved, that the Union County Police Department shall conduct this sale: The auction will open on Thursday 9/18/25 at 9:00am and the auction closes on Tuesday 9/23. This auction will occur on the USGovBid.com web site. Specific auction details will be available on the web site for all interested parties.
All vehicles are available to be viewed in person on 9/23/2025 at The Union County Maintenance Facility located at the intersection of Stone Hill Road @ Shunpike Road Springfield NJ 07081 between the hours of 9:00am-3:30pm
