691 - Protestant Religious Service Provider for Grafton Reintegration Center

GRAFTON CORRECTIONAL CONTRACT CHAPLAIN

The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction – Grafton Correctional is currently seeking a Protestant Religious Service Provider for Grafton Reintegration Center, 2500 South Avon Beldon Rd, Grafton Ohio.

DESCRIPTION:

The contractor is to assist the institutional chaplain in providing pastoral care and religious programming to incarcerated individuals of all faiths. The contract term for said services will begin upon approval of contract and continue through June 30, 2027, with two (2) additional two (2) year renewals. Candidates for the position must be ordained/licensed, and in good standing through his/her local congregation or denomination. Completion of one (1) unit of Clinical Pastoral Education preferred. Candidates will also be subject to a criminal background check and must assume the responsibility of working in a potentially hazardous environment.

SCOPE OF SERVICES:

The Contract Chaplain will work up to 35 hours per week at a rate of $21.65 per hour. Contract total not to exceed $39,478 per year.

The duties of the Contractor may include but not limited to the following services:

• Conduct, supervise or provide weekly congregate activities such as worship services, prayer services and study classes

• Provide general pastoral care to incarcerated individuals.

• Consultation concerning religious issues, grief care, crisis pastoral counseling, visitation rounds in living areas

• Attendance at annual religious services meeting

• Referrals to appropriate services

• Distribute religious literature

• Assist institutional chaplain in ministry duties

• Perform holy day services

• Complete monthly report on services provided
