Prosthetist Consultant

The Ministry of Health (Ministry) is seeking proposals from certified prosthetists to participate as a member of PharmaCare’s Prosthetic and Orthotic Committee (the Committee) performing prosthetic application review services. There is no guarantee to the minimum or maximum amount of work required. All the services are expected to be performed virtually.
In order to be considered, the Proponent must:be a certified prosthetist and provide evidence to demonstrate they are recognized by the Canadian Board for Certification of Prosthetists and Orthotists (CBCPO) as a person qualified to fit limb prostheses and able to maintain the CBCPO certification; and        not be a representative for the Prosthetic and Orthotics Association of British Columbia (POABC) or participate on any POABC committees; and        provide a statement indicating they do not have a financial interest, including any interest as a sole proprietor, partner, shareholder, corporate officer or executive, in a service provider that provides prostheses or related services reimbursed by PharmaCare.The current all-inclusive hourly rate to perform the services is $163.00 per hour based upon the PharmaCare approved hourly labour rate for prosthetists.
The Contract term will be three (3) years with an expected start date of May 1, 2025, and with the option to renew at the sole discretion of the Ministry for one (1) additional period of two (2) years.
