Project #25-03 RFQ For the Rebuild of Manderach Memorial Playground

Project Description: Limerick Township is soliciting proposals from professional planning and design firms for the
planning, design, and installation of a new inclusive playground in the Township. The project
will occupy the site of the existing Manderach Playground, as shown in Attachment #4: Existing
Site Plan. The new playground will feature inclusive play strategies and equipment for various
age groups and shall be designed to maximize the benefits of play for children of a wide range of
physical and mental abilities.
The playground design proposal should include the following elements, which are based upon
the Parks & Recreation Committee and community feedback (See Attachment #2: Samples of
Desired Features from the Parks & Recreation Committee Public Meetings):
• Maintain the Grandiose Nature of the Playground
• Maintain a Castle Theme
• Suitable for children of all ages AD or ITB goes here
• Ensure New Playground is fully ADA Compliant, and includes ramps, swings,
and large slides that can accommodate wheelchairs
• Maintain the Big Slides in Heart Shape
• More Toddler Swings
• No Ropes
• Multipurpose (Non-Mulch) Play Surface
• More Seating with Shade for Parents around the Playground
• Fence to be in the Shape of a Heart (Note: The fence to be included in the design proposal,
but will not be part of the purchase or installation in this project)
• Maintain One-Way In & Out – so Parents can Keep Track of Children
• Keep the Intent of “Lisa’s Lookout” & an Area of the Playground noted as
“Devon’s Place”
• Incorporate the Donor Names/Families on the Existing Picket Fence into the
Design
• Incorporate a Memorial Area concept design in the proposal*
