1. AMENDMENT OF SOLICITATION
The Solicitation of this project is amended as described below. Except as provided in this
addendum, all other provisions of the solicitation remain unchanged and in full force and
effect.
2. REQUIREMENT TO ACKNOWLEDGE ADDENDUM
By submitting your bid, you are attesting that you have read, understand and acknowledge this
addendum. Bidder shall acknowledge receipt of Addendum on Document 00313 – Bid Form.

Questions and Answers
1. Q: Will materials testing be required?
A: No
2. Q: Is hydroseeding required?
A: Seeding shall be in accordance with Section 02902 of the specifications.
3. Q: Can lengths\areas for each road be provided?
A: No additional information will be provided at this time beyond the bid quantities listed on
the bid form and the road locations shown on the exhibit.
4. Q: Will full-depth patching areas be marked for the Contractor?
A: Yes
5. Q: Should backfill be included in the line item cost for pipe?
A: Yes, the unit price for each pipe line item should include all costs needed for installation.
6. Q: What class pipe is required?
A: Class III
7. Q: Are any pipe end treatments required?
A: No

Will contractor be responsible for reflective cracking within the one-year warranty period?
Warranty shall cover all materials and workmanship. If cracking occurs during the warranty
period, County will inspect the work to ensure that the minimum of 1.5” of asphalt was
placed and to determine the cause of cracking. If it is due to reflective cracking and the
contractor has placed less than 1.5” of asphalt, contractor shall repair the area at no cost to
the County.
9. Q: Are there any known utility conflicts?
A: County is unaware of any conflicts.
10. Q: Are any erosion control measures needed at the culvert replacements?
A: A rock check dam will be required at the Red Fox Dr culvert replacement to the east of
Goose Rd. where it discharges to existing pond. A line item has been added to the Bid Form.

Since the County has three packages currently advertised, if one contractor is selected for
more than one contract, will they be required to run projects concurrently?
If one contractor is selected for more than one contract, there will be flexibility on the start
dates for the different packages; however, work for each subsequent package shall begin
within a week of final completion of the previous package. Resurfacing Package B shall be
completed first.
12. Q: Will there be any asphalt indexing?
A: No
13. Q: Does the county want the millings?
A: No, assume cost to haul off in the milling line item.

Will contractor be allowed to close roads to traffic for culvert replacement?
For roads that are not dead end and residents have more than one way to ingress\egress, a
temporary road closure will be allowed. Roads shall not remain closed overnight. Open
trenches shall be covered by metal plates and open to traffic when work is not taking place.
For roads that are dead end and residents do not have a secondary way to ingress\egress,
temporary road closures will not be allowed. One lane shall be open to traffic at all times.
Contractor shall be responsible for communication of work and upcoming future road
closures to residents. Residents shall be given a 24-hour notice for any road closures.

Some of the roads are only 14’ and 16’ wide and how are we to keep one lane open with
construction equipment onsite and trucks moving in and out of work area? We would like
to just pull one pass as was when the roads were previous paved?

Will contractor be responsible for replacing or building up driveway aprons to meet new
asphalt on roads that are receiving overlays?
Contractor shall wedge down edge of asphalt to avoid any drop-offs from new edge of
pavement down to existing driveways. Driveway aprons are not anticipated to be replaced
at this time.
17. Q: Is the riprap pay item for the end of pipes?
A: Yes
18. Q: Can County confirm that culvert listed on bid form for Red Fox Dr is the culvert that
discharges into the pond?
A: Yes, this is correct.
19. Q: Where can equipment be stored?
A: It is the responsibility of the contractor to determine this location.

Shoulder Buildup can that be defined? Some roads haven’t been backfilled that are being
milling and overlayed and what will be done in that case? The pay item for grassing is to
hydroseed the disturbed areas off the roads right?
Shoulder buildup is only being specified for roads that are receiving overlays. Buildup shall
provide a shoulder cross-slope of 8%. See question #2 for hydroseeding.
21. County has added an additional culvert replacement on Red Fox Rd. approximately 320’
east of Turkey Trail. This quantity has been added to the bid form.
