1. AMENDMENT OF SOLICITATION

The Solicitation of this project is amended as described below. Except as provided in this

addendum, all other provisions of the solicitation remain unchanged and in full force and

eﬀect.

2. REQUIREMENT TO ACKNOWLEDGE ADDENDUM

By submitting your bid, you are attesting that you have read, understand and acknowledge this

addendum. Bidder shall acknowledge receipt of Addendum on Document 00313 – Bid Form.

Questions and Answers

1. Q: Will materials testing be required?

A: No

2. Q: Is hydroseeding required?

A: Seeding shall be in accordance with Section 02902 of the speciﬁcations.

3. Q: Can lengths\areas for each road be provided?

A: No additional information will be provided at this time beyond the bid quantities listed on

the bid form and the road locations shown on the exhibit.

4. Q: Will full-depth patching areas be marked for the Contractor?

A: Yes

5. Q: Should backﬁll be included in the line item cost for pipe?

A: Yes, the unit price for each pipe line item should include all costs needed for installation.

6. Q: What class pipe is required?

A: Class III

7. Q: Are any pipe end treatments required?

A: No

8. Q:

Will contractor be responsible for reﬂective cracking within the one-year warranty period?

Warranty shall cover all materials and workmanship. If cracking occurs during the warranty

period, County will inspect the work to ensure that the minimum of 1.5” of asphalt was

placed and to determine the cause of cracking. If it is due to reﬂective cracking and the

contractor has placed less than 1.5” of asphalt, contractor shall repair the area at no cost to

the County.

9. Q: Are there any known utility conﬂicts?

A: County is unaware of any conﬂicts.

10. Q: Are any erosion control measures needed at the culvert replacements?

A: None anticipated at this time.

11. Q:

Since the County has three packages currently advertised, if one contractor is selected for

more than one contract, will they be required to run projects concurrently?

If one contractor is selected for more than one contract, there will be ﬂexibility on the start

dates for the diﬀerent packages; however, work for each subsequent package shall begin

within a week of ﬁnal completion of the previous package. Resurfacing Package B shall be

completed ﬁrst.

12. Q: Will there be any asphalt indexing?

A: No

13. Q: Does the county want the millings?

A: No, assume cost to haul oﬀ in the milling line item.

14. Q:

Will contractor be allowed to close roads to traﬃc for culvert replacement?

For roads that are not dead end and residents have more than one way to ingress\egress, a

temporary road closure will be allowed. Roads shall not remain closed overnight. Open

trenches shall be covered by metal plates and open to traﬃc when work is not taking place.

For roads that are dead end and residents do not have a secondary way to ingress\egress,

temporary road closures will not be allowed. One lane shall be open to traﬃc at all times.

Contractor shall be responsible for communication of work and upcoming future road

closures to residents. Residents shall be given a 24-hour notice for any road closures.

15. Q:

Some of the roads are only 14’ and 16’ wide and how are we to keep one lane open with

construction equipment onsite and trucks moving in and out of work area? We would like

to just pull one pass as was when the roads were previous paved?

How will work be coordinated with Savannah Lakes Village (SLV)?

Contractor will be responsible for providing a schedule to the County for work on each

road. This schedule will be communicated between County and SLV so that SLV can send

out an email communication to its citizens.

17. Q: Is the riprap pay item for the end of pipes?

A: Yes

18. Q:

Will contractor be responsible for replacing or building up driveway aprons to meet new

asphalt on roads that are receiving overlays?

Contractor shall wedge down edge of asphalt to avoid any drop-oﬀs from new edge of

pavement down to existing driveways. Driveway aprons are not anticipated to be replaced

at this time.

19. Q: Where can equipment be stored?

A: It is the responsibility of the contractor to determine this location.

20. Q:

Shoulder Buildup can that be deﬁned? Some roads haven’t been backﬁlled that are being

milling and overlayed and what will be done in that case? The pay item for grassing is to

hydroseed the disturbed areas oﬀ the roads right?

Shoulder buildup is only being speciﬁed for roads that are receiving overlays. Buildup shall

provide a shoulder cross-slope of 8%. See question #2 for hydroseeding.

21. Q: Can culverts on Foothill Ln be veriﬁed?

A: These culverts have been located and veriﬁed by County staﬀ.

22. Q: Can the limits of Foothill Ln (culdesac) and Savannah Dr paving be better deﬁned?

A: For all dead-end roads that end in a loop or culdesac, the entirety of the loop\culdesac is

included in the project. The Package C exhibit has been updated to provide clariﬁcation on

Savannah Dr. For package roads that intersect other package roads, the entire intersection

shall be included. For packages roads that intersect other package roads, they shall

terminate at the edge of pavement of non-package roads.

23. Q:

Cooper Rd currently has a stop bar, and there is not a bid item for it. Should this be

included?

Existing stop bars at each end of Martin Dr and Cooper Dr shall be replaced. A line item has

been added to the bid form.
