PROJECT Nos: #622 – New Sewer Connections #623- Abandon (4) 2" galvanized lines #624-New 4" PVC

1.02 Summary of Work

1.02.1 Project #622: Sewer Connections & Laterals – Oak Street [Sheet A-1]

1.02.1.1 Install approximately 375 LF of 3” PVC sewer pipe. Cap the north end and terminate into manhole at the west terminus of Pine Tree Street.

1.02.1.2 Install three 1-1/2” laterals as shown on sheet A-1. Terminate each lateral in a valve box with a shut-off valve.

1.02.1.3 Restore all disturbed areas back to the pre-construction condition or better.

1.02.2 Project #623: Isolate four 2” Galvanized pipes by installing line stop valves at both ends – between S. Central Ave. and S. Daytona Ave. from S. 13th St. to 16th St. [Sheet A-2]

1.02.2.1 Install six 2” line stops on four existing 2” galvanized pipes. Terminate these lines from the mains using 2” valves.  There are two existing valves that need to be shut off (these are located at the east ends of S. 15th and S. 16th Streets). If these valves cannot be closed completely, then install line stops and new valves similar to the other six.

1.02.2.2 Restore all disturbed areas back to the pre-construction condition or better.

1.02.3 Project #624: Install new PVC Pipe – S. 13th to S. 14th Streets Alleyway between A1A & S. Central Avenue.

1.02.3.1 Install approximately 900 LF of 4” PVC pipe as shown on Sheet A-3 in drawings. Do two wet taps from the water main along S. Central Ave., and install 4” isolation valved at 13th and 14th Streets as shown on the drawings.

1.02.3.2 Install 2” line stop and valve on the existing 2” galvanized pipe coming from the water main at 13th St.  Install a minimum of 12” from the main.  This line will remain abandoned.

1.02.3.3 Inspect the valve on the existing PVC pipe near 14th St. in the alley (this valve will be located by the Public Works Dept. upon request).  If the valve is operable, close valve completely and the line will be abandoned in place.  If the valve will not close, install a line stop (match size to the PVC pipe) and valve on the south side of the valve.

1.02.3.4 Disconnect all existing laterals to each meter on the east side of the alleyway from the water supply box and remove completely (from the box to the abandoned pipes described above).

1.02.3.5 Add new PVC laterals from the newly installed 4” PVC pipe to each property on the east side of the alleyway. The laterals sizes should match the existing lateral pipes that were removed. Connect the new laterals to the respective meters.

1.02.3.6 Restore all disturbed areas back to the pre-construction condition or better.
