2026 Professional Services - Special Counsel for the Township of Cherry Hill

At the direction of the Township Municipal Attorney, the Special Counsel may: a) review and provide legal advice on Open Public Record Act and Common Law Right of Access requests; b) review and provide legal advice on subpoena requests; c) review, draft, and/or approve as to form and sufficiency legal documents, contracts, deeds, ordinances and resolutions made, executed or adopted by or on behalf of the Township; and d) provide any other legal representation and/or advices as deemed necessary and appropriate.

It is intended that this position be awarded commencing on January 1, 2026 for a one (1) year term. The selected Professional will be expected to provide specialized professional services to Cherry Hill during the time employed on an as needed basis and at the direction of the Township Municipal Attorney. Various issues arise during the normal course of business involving the need for professional services on matters that will require guidance and advice from the aforesaid professional. Because such services, at times, represent emergency situations, the professional will be expected to return a phone call to Cherry Hill on the same day. The professional will also be expected to be available to provide advice to Cherry Hill during non-business hours including the attendance at meetings when requested.
