PROFESSIONAL SERVICES - LICENSED ATTORNEY: MUNICIPAL PROSECUTOR

The Township of Maplewood (“Township”) seeks Requests for Proposals (“RFP”) from attorneys licensed to practice law in the State of New Jersey that wish to provide legal services as a Municipal Prosecutor. The successful applicant shall provide all necessary and appropriate legal counsel and representation for the prosecution of cases before the Municipal Court. This includes the prosecution of all matters arising under the ordinances of the Township, as well as all other cases for which prosecution is not otherwise the responsibility of the County or State. Service provided shall meet all requirements of the N.J.S.A. 2B:25-5 – Duties of Municipal Prosecutor. This RFP carries no guarantee to actual amount of work appointed to the successful applicant. The Township anticipates awarding a Professional Service contract to the successful applicant, for the period on or about June 16, 2026 to December 31, 2026.

Proposals shall be delivered in a sealed envelope clearly marked “Municipal Prosecutor” and bear the name and address of the proposer on the outside of the envelope to Elizabeth J. Fritzen, Township Clerk, at the Township of Maplewood’s Clerk’s Office located at 574 Valley Street Maplewood, NJ 07040 no later than 10:00 AM on May 28, 2026 at which time all proposals will be opened. One original and one copy of the proposal will be required. In addition, one electronic copy of the proposal shall be submitted on a USB drive.

All Service Contractors are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-3 et seq. Affirmative Action, P.L. 1975 c. 127 N.J.A.C. 17:27 et seq. (Contract Compliance and Equal Employment Opportunities in Public Contracts), and N.J.S.A. 52:25-24.2 (Disclosure of Ownership).

This procurement has been advertised in accordance with the “Fair and Open Basis” and nothing further shall be required under the Pay-to-Play Legislation (N.J.S.A. 19:44A-20.5).
