Preventive maintenance for five Hollings Marine Laboratory (HML) Chiller Systems

AMENDMENT 001 - 08/10/2026



This amendment is being issued to provide the full Questions and Answers attachment, along with any applicable additional comments/clarifications originating electronically or from the site visits.



No further questions are being accepted with the issuing of this amendment, and no further site visits will be accepted.



The closing date of this solicitation is extended to August 21, 2026 at 12:00pm EST to allow for quotes to be submitted.



The following changes are made:




  1. (vii) Quotes are required to be received in the contracting office no later than 12:00pm EST on 08/21/2026. All quotes must be submitted electronically via email to Randall.Chatfield@noaa.gov, and have a minimum validity of 60 days.

  2. Statement of Work: The intent of this requirement is for the Contractor to perform the specified preventive maintenance services, troubleshoot the chiller systems, and identify and report any deficiencies. It is not intended to require the Contractor to include the repair or replacement of controls and primary pumps in its quoted price for preventive maintenance.



Revise paragraph 2 of “Client Information”:



From



“The Hollings Marine Laboratory, located at 331 Fort Johnson Rd., Charleston, SC 29412, requires the services of a company to provide semiannual and annual preventive maintenance for the five Hollings Marine Laboratory (HML) Chiller Systems. During these inspections, the company will troubleshoot, repair, or replace controls and primary pumps as necessary. Furthermore, the selected company must be capable of receiving and responding to emergency calls 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, within four hours of the initial request.”

“The Hollings Marine Laboratory, located at 331 Fort Johnson Road, Charleston, SC 29412, requires the services of a qualified Contractor to provide semiannual and annual preventive maintenance for the five HML chiller systems. During these services, the Contractor shall inspect and troubleshoot the chiller systems, including associated controls and primary pumps, and report identified deficiencies to the COR. Repair or replacement work is outside the scope of this requirement and shall not be performed unless separately authorized in writing by the Contracting Officer. The Contractor must also be capable of receiving and responding to emergency service calls 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, within four hours of the initial request.”
