The City of Farmington, New Mexico has determined that the following unique nonprofit organization, San Juan Safe Communities Initiative require specialized knowledge and skills that only one vendor can provide for the City of Farmington.
A description of the required services that substantiates the sole source determination is as follows:
Vendor shall provide coordination, integration, logistical support, financial resources, and public education to address root causes of substance abuse and street gang membership in order to reduce outcomes of substance abuse and illegal gang activity with the city of Farmington.
Contract details and the required statutory information is below:
(1) the contractor's name and address: San Juan Safe Communities Initiative, 100 W Broadway, Farmington, NM 87401
(2) the amount and term of the contract: July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027 (with the possibility of extending nine one-year terms); $40,000
(3) a listing of the services procured under the contract: target root causes of substance abuse and street gang membership, reduce outcomes associated with substance abuse and illegal gang activity. Services are provided to the citizens of the city of Farmington.
To ensure that Procurement procedures are conducted in a fair and impartial manner, all qualified vendors are notified of the City’s intent to award a Sole source contract. Qualified vendors and interested parties have an opportunity to submit evidence that more than one firm has the requisite knowledge and skills to perform the contract services, prior to the proposed award date. If evidence presented reveals that more than one source is available to perform the contract, the City may issue a competitive solicitation.
Interested parties must submit thorough and comprehensive evidence, in writing by 5:00 p.m. on June 26th, 2026. Interested firms shall send their evidence in response to this notification in writing via the online bidding system.
