Description:
This is a notice of intent, not a request for a quotation. A solicitation document will not be issued, and quotations will not be requested.
The National Institutes of Health, Office of Purchasing and Contracts on behalf of The National Institutes of Health (NIH), Clinical Center (CC), The Department of Perioperative Medicine intends to award a firm fixed price contract to KARL STORZ of El Segundo, California to provide Preventative Maintenance Service for integration systems.
The purpose of this of Preventative Maintenance Agreement on its current integration systems.
This integration system supports the current Operating Rooms to the Education Room. Currently OR’s 10, 11, and 12 have existing KARL STORZ equipment that is utilized for integration purposes. The current system houses a framework that communicates with future technology and likewise, the new equipment is able to communicate with the existing equipment through the same framework. The purchase of this PMA will support the existing systems and prevent delay should the integration system go down.
Minimum Specifications
Remote monitoring:
- Providing the ability to be outside of the OR and, using hospital designated credentials, safely monitor progress within via a secure network. One can check the status of a room or of a case via room camera, endoscopic or robotic image, in-light camera, or any other routable image hooked into the system with the touch of a button.
Collaboration among NIH and other research institutes
- Through a secure network, those allowed access are able to log-on to the server using hospital accredited credentials to view current and previous cases. Videos can be edited, images can be telestrated over, and notes can be added for presentations all via the application.
Web based and teleconference consultation and collaboration
- Anyone who has been given access to the server from the hospital will have the ability for bi-directional communication into and out of the designated ORs. This provides live consultation and collaboration on difficult cases and the ability to work more efficiently with pathology. Live streaming allows those allowed to sign on, to view in real-time, the same image as those they are working with for more efficient collaboration.
Contract Duration: All systems have a co-terminus start and end date. Service Agreement for Base Year (5/31/24 - 5/30/25) with
option year 1 (5/31/25 - 5/30/26) & option year 2 (5/31/26 - 5/30/27)
This acquisition is being conducted using policies unique to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13 – Simplified Acquisition Procedures, Subpart 13.106-1(b)(1), For purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold (SAT), contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstance of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available. Contracts awarded using FAR Part 13-Simplified Acquisition Procedures are exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6-Competition Requirements.
Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this posting. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
