DESCRIPTION
The U. S Embassy Lusaka Zambia requires the services of a Contractor for the Construction of a New Water, Waste Water and Storm Reticulation System at one of it’s residences at 4049 Lukulu Road.
The proposed reconfiguration of the reticulation systems intends to relocate the swimming pool to have a better drainage system and create easy access to and from the house to reduce maintenance effort from trees, soil spillage, and to avoid vehicles crossing lawn to access to water tanks.
The project includes rerouting sewer lines and relocating septic tanks. A new location of the tanks will allow proper access for maintenance vehicles.

THE CONTRACTOR WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

Minor Demolitions Works
- Remove portion of the current brick spoon drain
- Remove the current water tank slab
- Remove some existing water and sewer pipes
- Demolish the existing main house septic tank and soakaway
- Remove some manholes and disused underground water tank

Excavation and backfilling
- Excavate trench for water supply lines from the city water meter and borehole to tanks and from the tanks to the house, staff quarters and the garden taps. The trench depth shall be minimum
- 600mm.
- Excavate trench for wastewater supply lines from the main house to the new septic tank
- Excavate for storm water lines that include the grated storm drain, the brick spoon drain, the PVC storm water pipes
- Excavate for new septic tank, manholes, sand traps, soakaways.
- Excavate trench for new water tank slab
- Supply sand bedding
- Backfill trenches, around manholes, septic tanks, and disused underground tank
- Dispose of excess excavated materials

Concrete Works
- Supply and install formworks for the sides of the walkways, septic tanks, manholes and storm water channels
- Supply and cast 25Mpa 100mm concrete
- Supply and install steel reinforcement
- Allow for adequate curing of the concrete before loading. 4 days of continuous moistening of the concrete surface
- Supply and install manhole covers
- Supply and install welded steel grating
- Supply and install brick spoon drain
- Construct new grating storm water channel

Plumbing Works
- Supply and lay 50mm UPVC pipes including all connection fittings such as bends unions, tees, gate valves, bypass line, reducers etc.
- Install the water tanks including installation of pressure vessel and all piping at the water storage tanks
- Supply and lay 25mm CPVC water supply line from the tanks to the house, staff quarters and garden taps including all connection fittings such as bends, unions, tees, ball valves, valves etc.
- Supply and install 19mm and 12mm GI water supply lines to the garden tap standpipes including all connection fittings such as bends, tees and unions
- Supply and install 19mm brass garden taps.
- Supply and install 20mm pipe support for the standpipes.
- Supply and install 5000L plastic septic tank
- Connect to city water supply
- Electrical connections to water tanks pumps

All contractors must be registered in the SAM (System for Award Management) Database https://www.sam.gov prior to submitting an offer pursuant to FAR provision 52.204-7. Therefore, prospective offerors are encouraged to register prior to the submittal of quotations/proposals. Failure to register at the time of proposal submission may deem the offeror’s proposal to be considered non responsible.
