Summary
The City of Benicia is soliciting proposals from qualified consultants to provide comprehensive herbicide application services at 84 pre-determined sites for pre and post emergent weed control. The selected Consultant shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary to perform the required services in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and product label requirements.
Services shall include two (2) applications per fiscal year of pre-emergent and/or post-emergent herbicides, as appropriate, based on site conditions and in accordance with the written recommendations submitted as part of the Consultant’s proposal and approved by the City.
Herbicide applications shall be performed on the following schedule:

Background
Objectives:
- To minimize fire danger by reducing overgrowth of vegetation near roadways, trails, and other City owned properties.
- To maintain trail accessibility by creating vegetation free buffer zones away from accessible walking paths.
- To maintain Water Treatment Plant (WTP) and Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) facilities, Solar Arrays, Lake Herman Dam, and Benicia Police Department Range free of vegetation.
