Pre-emption Road Bridge Rehabilitation over Kashong Creek

The Owner is Yates County and the work site is located in the Town of Benton, Yates County New York. The project is located approximately 275 feet south of the intersection of Pre-Emption Road and Toomey Road. The projects limits extend from approximately 50 feet north and 50 south of the existing bridge.

The work includes providing all labor, materials, machinery, tools, equipment and other means of construction necessary and incidental to the completion of the work shown on the Plans and described in these Specifications including, but not necessarily limited to the following: Removing and replacing the existing concrete bridge deck. The single 58’-6” span composite concrete deck with cantilevered sidewalks will be reconstructed. The multiple steel girders will remain and receive paint over coating. Concrete repairs will be made to the existing substructures. There is approximately 60 feet of full depth roadway reconstruction including sidewalk improvements and railing upgrades. Traffic will be maintained using an off-site detour during construction.

This is a Federal Aid Project and NYSDOT Standard Specifications, officially finalized and adopted on May 1, 2025 as posted on the New York State Department of Transportation's website must be followed by the successful Bidder.

The DBE goal for this project is 5%. There are no M/WBE or SDVOB goals for this project. The EEO Employment goals for this project are: 5.9% Minority Employment Goal and 6.9% Women Employment Goal. The use of the NYSDOT approved civil rights reporting software, Equitable Business Opportunities (EBO), is required.
