The City of Atlanta, on behalf of the Department of Watershed Management will shortly undergo an Invitation for Bid (IFB) for hose pump parts and replacement components required for existing Watson Marlow (Bredel Brand) equipment located at the RM Clayton, South River, Intrenchment Creek, and Utoy Creek Water Reclamation Centers. Interested vendors will be expected to furnish Bredel manufacturer-certified or approved parts and accessories, or equivalent parts that meet or exceed the specified requirements and maintain full compatibility with the City¿s installed equipment and applicable warranty standards ability to provide compliant materials, satisfy specification requirements, offer competitive pricing, and support the City¿s operational need for reliable replacement parts. The City expectation is that the selected supplier will deliver timely, high-quality, and specification-compliant parts that help ensure continued functionality and operational readiness at the City¿s wastewater treatment facilities. CITY OF ATLANTA SPECIFICATION FOR HOSE PUMP PARTS and REPLACEMENT
SCOPE AND CLASSIFICATION - PART I
Scope - This specification describes minimum requirements. Please refer to Scope and
Classification - Part II.
Classification - The material(s) must be classified as follows:
Group I - RM Clayton Pump Parts
Group II - South River Pump Parts
Group III - Intrenchment Creek Pump Parts
Group IV - Utoy Creek Pump Parts
Group V - Miscellaneous
1. GROUPS I - IV PUMP PARTS (Listed in Part I under Classification)
1.1 Bidder must be Bredel manufacturer-certified representative or
distributor and manufacturer authorized service provider for the
Bredel equipment bid upon.
1.2 The bid on Bredel parts and accessories must be supplied as stated on pricing lines.
If substitutions are used, they must be equal to Bredel parts and accessories and
clearly stated on pricing lines.
1.3 All parts supplied must be Bredel manufacturer-certified or approved for use
with the systems by the manufacturer. The use of all parts supplied must be
within the warranty requirements for Bredel Equipment or equal.
1.4 As part of the City of Atlanta, Department of Watershed Management at RM
Clayton WRC, South River WRC, Utoy WTC and Intrenchment Creek WRC ,
substantial amounts of Watson Marlow (Bredel Brand) equipment were installed at
each facility.
1.5 The following pumps and sizes are utilized at the above-mentioned facilities:
BREDEL 10 - 10 pumps
BREDEL 15 - 10 pumps
BREDEL 25 - 20 pumps
BREDEL 32 - 16 pumps
BREDEL 40 - 16 pumps
BREDEL 100 - 20 pumps

1.6 Pump Hoses
Construction: The pump hose is made of special rubbers, reinforced with nylon
cords and is constructed as follows:
* Outer extruded layer made of natural rubber
* Four nylon reinforcement layers
* Inner extruded liner
Material: The pump hose liner material should be chemically resistant with the
product to be pumped.
* Natural Rubber - dynamic material, excellent abrasion resistance and
mechanical strength and resistance to diluted acids and alcohols.
* Nitrile Rubber - abrasion proof and wear resistant material to oils, fats,
alkaline, and detergents.
* EPDM - Chemical resistance to concentrated acids, ketones, and alcohols.
1.6 Pumps Parts for Repairs:
* Gasket Kit
* Pressing shoe, epoxy
* Shim
* Insert - 316SS
* Insert - Polypropylene
2. GROUP II - MISCELLANEOUS
2.1 Vendor must inspect hose pump for any cracks, leaks, bulges, etc.
2.2 Vendor must follow operational and safety checks before any replacement
procedures are performed.
2.3 Vendor must provide a report to DWM Plant Manager of all work performed at the
location.
2.4 Complete pump price (cost for 1 pump)
Therefore, in order to preserve the operational capacity of our Water Reclamation Centers, we will
need to purchase the required parts for our pumps. Any substitution must be guaranteed by the
supplier to meet or exceed the Watson Marlow (Bredel Brand) parts and be his responsibility to
assure compatibility.
