Project Description: Helene Relief - Design of Build Bridge Replacement on Private Road over
Dutch Creek at 1461 Dutch Creek Road, Banner Elk, NC
The North Carolina Department of Public Safety Emergency Management Division and the
Department of Transportation are requesting bids for design bid build bridge replacement on
private roads over Dutch Creek at 1461 Dutch Creek Road, Banner Elk, NC in Watauga County
to be let at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 20, 2026.
The availability for this project is June 15, 2026.
The completion date is ninety (90) consecutive days after and including the date of availability.
Because of the unusual nature of the work involved and in order for all prospective
bidders to have extensive knowledge of the project, an open, virtual Pre-Bid Conference
will be held for all interested parties on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at 9:00 am.

Sealed bids must be received in the NC Department of Transportation Division Office
at 55 Orange Street, Asheville, NC 28801 by 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20, 2026.

to the prime contractor must be prequalified prior to beginning work on the project.
