The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) Jakarta seeks a professional Event Organizer (EO) to deliver the Rasa Amerika – U.S. Food and Agricultural Festival, a two-day public event at Sarinah Mall on January 31 – February 1, 2026. Setup would occur Friday evening after the mall closes so that all setup is complete by the time the mall opens at 10am on Saturday, January 31. The event will occur on Saturday, 10am – 10pm and then on Sunday, 6am – 10pm.
The EO will provide full-service event planning, creative design, production, staffing, and operational management (including crowd control) to showcase U.S. food and agricultural products, promote cultural and culinary exchange, and strengthen U.S.–Indonesia relations. The design must include a Rasa Amerika photobooth which can be dismantled and reassembled for later use. In addition, the EO will organize a pre-event briefing for members of the news media in coordination with the U.S. Embassy and USDA. During the festival, the EO will hire professional emcees and videographers/photographers for both days and two professional and/or celebrity chefs to perform cooking demonstrations on-camera during the festival. The EO will also facilitate a formal opening ceremony, with a ribbon cutting and cultural performance. The stage must be at least 10 meters wide by 8 meters deep, be equipped with a modern audio/visual system with multiple microphones and speakers and have a large high-resolution screen which is approximately the width of the stage. The festival will feature product showcase booths, cooking demonstrations, live stage programs, influencer engagements, VR activities, a kids’ education corner, mascots, photobooth experiences, and a Sunday Morning healthy promotion. The EO will also decorate a vacant restaurant to be used for a bakery competition and other events. During the bakery competition, the EO must live-stream the video footage of the chefs decorating their cakes onto the large screen which will be mounted behind the stage. The EO will need to provide the necessary equipment to facilitate reheating prepared food, cooking food, cutting and plating/tasting food, and washing dishes. For all decorations, the EO must incorporate strong U.S. branding and ambience, including iconic American motifs and cohesive visuals aligned with the U.S. flag in accordance with new U.S. government branding requirements, the new Rasa Amerika brand, and the USDA identity.
The EO is responsible for developing event concepts, including detailed designs, layouts, security, and program flow. Key duties include venue coordination, stage and booth construction, branding and signage, technical support, talent and VIP management, and full event staffing. The EO must ensure a family-friendly, engaging, and safe environment, deliver all pre-event, event-day, and post-event requirements, and propose creative U.S.-themed souvenirs. All activities must meet USDA and U.S. Embassy standards for quality, safety, and professionalism, with final acceptance based on timely completion, smooth operations, and submission of a comprehensive post-event report.
