Advanced Contract Award Notice / Notice of Proposed Procurement
University of Calgary
The University of Calgary (UCalgary) intends to purchase Pour Point Tester PPT 45150 and Cold Finger CF15, including Control and Data Visualization Software and accessories, from PSL Systemtechnik GmbH. UCalgary Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering requires the equipment for their research program. PSL Systemtechnik is the sole manufacturer of Pour Point Testers according ASTM D5985 Rotational Method. This is the only method that enables continuous measurement with a resolution of 0.1 K, providing precise and repeatable results for gel-forming crude oils. Additionally, the Cold Finger CF15 is unique in offering high accurate temperature control via a sensor embedded in the finger surface. It is also the only Cold Finger model featuring weight-calibrated finger sleeves and an optional configuration for an extended low-temperature range. It is the department's understanding that only PSL Systemtechnik’s Pour Point Tester and Cold Finger can meet their research requirements.
