Description:

The purpose for the RFP is for the removal of all asbestos containing materials (ACM), demolition of the "old" Post Office and the removal of all trash located at the site. The site is 1.39 acres and starts at 110 State Street, in Lexington, NC. Lowest responsible/responsive bidder shall complete all the work, that is, one contract to be awarded.

The Contract shall cover the period from TBD by schedule of the contractor and mutually agreed upon, but the work may begin immediately after award. There shall be no renewals for this contract.

A bid bond in the amount of 5% of the bid cost must be included with the bid response.

Sealed Proposals subject to the conditions made a part hereof will be received until 2:00 p,m, on August 26, 2026 for furnishing services described herein. In the event the County is closed due to inclement weather, this opening will take place on the next business day.

NOTE: A MANDATORY PRE-BID CONFERENCE

For all prospective o:fferors is scheduled for 9;00 a,m, August 19, 2026 starting at the Support Secyices Department. Attendance at this conference is a prerequisite for consideration of an offeror's proposal. Copies of the bid package will be available at the pre-bid conference. Prospective offerors are encouraged to submit written questions in advance. Address is listed above. The job site visit will after the pre-bid conference. In the event the County is closed due to inclement weather, this meeting will take place on the next business day. Do not be late as this conference will start on time, if late you may be asked to leave.
