Background

City leaders developed the Pontiac Community Recreation Center project based on feedback from residents needing a modern gathering space, marking it as a transformational investment expected to open in the coming years. Groundbreaking began in October 2025 on a new 54,000-square-foot recreation center at the former McCarroll School site, across from the skate park. The facility will include, but is not limited to, basketball courts, a fitness center, an indoor track, and dedicated spaces for kids and teens to promote youth development and community cohesion.
