(or as specified by the Town) at the time of delivery.
Purity: Product shall be free from contaminants, sediment, or foreign material that may
impair treatment processes or damage facility equipment.
Freshness/Stability: Product must be manufactured within 60 days of delivery to
minimize degradation and ensure stability.
Certification: All polymer supplied must be NSF/ANSI Standard 60 certified for use in
drinking water treatment applications. Documentation of certification must be provided
annually or upon request.
Packaging/Delivery: Product shall be delivered in totes via truck that is accessible with a

All testing shall be witnessed, directed, and evaluated by KWPCF staff.
3. Scope of Testing
A minimum of three (3) jar test trials shall be conducted using sludge representative of
routine facility operations. Testing shall include, at a minimum, evaluation of:
o Floc formation and settling characteristics;
o Dewatering performance under plant-specific conditions;
o Polymer dosage efficiency expressed in pounds of active polymer per dry ton of
solids;
o Filtrate or centrate quality, including residual suspended solids.
Page 9 of 34
Engineering/RFP/Chemicals/Polymer, Emulsion Delivery
4. Performance Standards
The proposed polymer must meet or exceed the performance of Clarifloc(TM) NE-2365 in

results, and a comparison to Clarifloc(TM) NE-2365. The report shall be signed by the
Contractor's technical representative and acknowledged by KWPCF staff.
7. Approval and Final Determination
Approval of any alternate polymer shall rest solely with the Town. The Town reserves
the right to reject any polymer that, in its judgment, does not demonstrate satisfactory
performance. No contract award shall be made to any Bidder proposing an alternate
polymer until such polymer has been tested and approved in accordance with this
Section.
