Planning Services - OCP and ZB Review and Update
Synopsis:
The Rural Municipality of Loon Lake and the Village of Loon Lake invite qualified planning consultants or firms to submit proposals to provide professional planning services for the comprehensive review, analysis, and update of their respective Official Community Plans (OCP) and Zoning Bylaws.
The selected consultant will work closely with Administration and Council from both Municipalities and will lead a public consultation process to ensure the updated documents reflect current needs, priorities, and legislative requirements.
Additional Information:
The foundation of the existing planning documents is considered sound. However, over time, a number of amendments—primarily to the Zoning Bylaws—have been adopted, with additional minor amendments currently proposed. As a result, the documents have become fragmented and more difficult to administer and interpret.
The RM and Village are seeking to consolidate all existing and proposed amendments into clear, modernized versions of their respective Official Community Plans and Zoning Bylaws. The updated documents should reflect current growth trends, address the needs of landowners, and ensure compliance with applicable legislative requirements. This work will improve usability, consistency, and transparency for Council, Administration, developers, and the public.
