Title: Placards/Labels for the Public Art Collection Pieces
Addenda: 0
Release Date: 1/13/2025
Due Date: 2/4/2025
The City of St. Petersburg is seeking a vendor to provide labels/signs for its Public Art Collection of 91 pieces (28 outdoor, must be weather resistant). Labels will feature a matte or semi-gloss finish, the City logo with the words “Public Art Collection" under it, the artist’s name, location, year, title, materials, and a QR code linking to the online Public Art Archive. If possible, QR codes could be stickers for easy replacement. Indoor labels will be wall- or podium-mounted; outdoor signs will be ground-mounted near sculptures. Exterior labels/signs should be durable against the elements and last 10-15 years. Vendor guidance and installation are required.
St. Petersburg is a City centered around the arts. It is supported by ten museums, countless murals, and an array of public artworks scattered throughout the urban landscape. These outdoor artworks often serve as the first visual connection to the city’s vibrant arts culture. Proper labeling and signage are essential to provide viewers with accurate information and access to additional resources. These labels must uphold the highest standard of stewardship and care to preserve the cultural legacy conveyed in the collection.
The City of St. Petersburg’s Public Art Collection consists of over 91 pieces of art which include, but are not limited to, paintings, sculptures, engravings, carvings, frescos, mobiles, murals, collages, mosaics, statues, bas-reliefs, tapestries, photographs, drawings, stained glass, clay, fiber, monuments, fountains, arches, or other structures of a permanent character intended as ornamental, decorative or commemorative.
