PKAA, Brooklyn Ponds and Level One Project

The project work will include the following general work tasks:         Installing Stormwater Controls         Preparing a Safety Plan         Preparing a Traffic Control Plan         Draining and treating the water from two tailings ponds         Amending the pond sediments/tailings with Quicklime         Hauling amended pond sediments to the Level One Waste Rock Consolidation area and mixing them with angular waste rock for geotechnical stability.         Backfilling the ponds with on-site material and revegetating         Installing a dispersed camping area in the reclaimed ponds area.         Excavating and amending a corner of the Level One Waste Rock with limestone crusher fines due to groundwater encountered during site investigations.         Amending the Level One Waste Rock with a top barrier of limestone crusher fines to neutralize the waste rock and minimize mobilization of metals leaching due to precipitation from snow and rain.         Repairing the road to the Quarry area on the lower levels of the Brooklyn site for hauling cover material to the Level One Consolidation area.         Capping the Level One Consolidation area with Burns formation talus and cover material that has a high buffering capacity (higher pH) and revegetating.         Reinstalling run-on controls across the site to divert water away from waste rock and protect the newly installed remedies.
