By direction of the Linn County Conservation Board, in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 26 of the Code of Iowa, notice is hereby given that QUOTATIONS, will be received by the Conservation Board at its office at 10260 Morris Hills Road, Toddville, Iowa, no later than 1 p.m. on Tuesday, JULY 22, 2025, for the project entitled PINICON RIDGE PARK SHOP COLD STORAGE BUILDING DEBRIS REMOVAL AND SITE CLEAN-UP.

All quotations submitted by the time and date stated above will be publicly read and reviewed by the Conservation Director and staff at their office at 10260 Morris Hills Road, Toddville, Iowa, on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at 1 p.m. The Conservation Board has delegated this quotation opening authority to the Conservation Director in accordance with Chapter 26, Code of Iowa. The Conservation Director will report the results of the bidding and his recommendation at the next Conservation Board meeting scheduled for 12 p.m. (noon) on Monday, July 28, 2025.

This public improvement generally consists of the removal of debris from a 36’ x 120’, 3-sided, metal storage building at Pinicon Ridge Park. Address: 4732 Horseshoe Falls Road. Central City Iowa, 52214. This building was destroyed by a fire in late April.

GENERAL SCOPE OF WORK:

  1. Demolition/clean-up work includes:
  2. Above -Slab Debris Removal:
  3. Steel roofing and wall siding
  4. Burnt/charred firewood
  5. Fire destroyed metal equipment and components
  6. Burnt interior wall framing
  7. Hay bales
  8. Structural Component Removals:
  9. 6” concrete floor w/ rebar
  10. Post footings w/ metal brackets, approximately 45 (18”-24” dia. 4-5’ deep)
  11. 6” concrete approach pad
  12. Final Site Condition:
  13. Fill and compact all posts holes/trench
  14. Grade and level site utilizing existing rock on site
  15. NOTE: The contractor will be required to obtain a demolition permit from the Linn County Building Department. There is NO COST for this permit. All work is to be performed according to the attached Building Demolition Specifications.

ESTIMATED COST: $75,000.00

A “pre-bid” meeting will be held on site on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at 10 a.m.

All addenda issued during the bidding period are to be covered in the bid and in closing a contract they are to become a part thereof. The final date for addenda to be issued will be Thursday, July 17, 2025, by noon.

The PROPOSAL will be a “LUMP SUM QUOTATION”.  Submit your Signed “QUOTATION” on your company letterhead.

DO NOT INCLUDE SALES TAX ON YOUR BID FORM.

By virtue of statutory authority and provisions, preference will be given to products and provisions grown and produced within the State of Iowa.

It is intended that a contract be awarded to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder who is within the counties budgetary amount. Prices quoted shall be guaranteed for a period of sixty (60) days after the date of the bid. Linn County and its Conservation Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive minor informalities in any bid or to make award in the best interest of the County.
