PID Demonstration Garden Landscaping Services

1. Project Overview
Paradise Irrigation District (PID) seeks qualified contractors to provide:
Demonstration Garden Landscape Maintenance & Design Support located at 6350 Calrk
Road, Paradise, CA 95969 — ongoing care and beautification of the Demonstration Garden
and fruit trees, including seasonal plant replacement, irrigation upkeep, support for design
updates to enhance the garden’s educational and aesthetic value, and coordination with
PID staff and associated partners.
2. Scope of Work
• Demonstration Garden Landscaping & Design
o Routine maintenance: trimming, pruning, mulching, debris removal, and
irrigation system management.
o Plant replacement: remove unhealthy plantings and install new fire-wise,
drought-tolerant plants.
o Support design changes: provide recommendations and assist PID staff in
implementing layout or educational improvements.
o Maintain a safe and visually appealing environment for public
demonstration purposes.
o Coordinate maintenance items with PID staff and associated partners as
necessary
o Occasional projects on other PID property
3. Contractor Requirements
• All contractors must:
o Be registered with the California Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) as
a public works contractor under Labor Code §1725.5.
o Provide DIR registration number with proposal submission.
o Pay workers not less than the applicable wage prevailing as determined by
DIR.
o Submit certified payroll records in compliance with DIR requirements.
o Possess a valid California Contractor’s State License Board (CSLB) license
appropriate to the work (C-27 Landscaping and/or C-61/D-49 Tree Service).
o Carry required insurance and Workers’ Compensation coverage.
o Demonstrate experience with both fire-safe vegetation management and
landscape maintenance for public or governmental clients.
4. Deliverables
• Monthly reports documenting sites treated, tasks performed, and compliance
achieved.
• Design recommendations for Demonstration Garden updates.
• Prompt notifications of hazards or conditions beyond routine scope (e.g., hazard
trees).
5. Proposal Submission Requirements
• Proposals must include:
o Cover letter with firm profile, DIR registration number, and CSLB license(s).
o Workplan describing garden care schedule and design methodology.
o Staff and equipment plan.
o Itemized cost proposal (monthly rate for garden maintenance, hourly/design
fees).
o Proof of insurance and Workers’ Comp coverage.
o Safety plan.
o At least three references for similar vegetation/landscape work.
o Submit proposals by January 2, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. to:

6. Compliance Reminder
• Failure to include a valid DIR registration number will render the proposal non-
responsive.
