Description
Description: PIN 4BNY69 Phipps Road Culvert Replacement in the Town of Albion, Orleans County THIS IS A TOWN OF ALBION SPONSORED BRIDGENY PROJECT The project includes the removal of the existing concrete culvert, and replacement with a 3-sided single span precast concrete span unit structure supported by micropiles (to rock) on spread footings, and associated highway approach work and stream work. Construction will be on the existing alignment with an off-site detour to maintain traffic during construction. The bridge is currently closed to traffic. An alternate allowed by selection of the contractor is the prefabricated modular cast-in-place (CIP) bridge system. The prefabricated modular CIP bridge system must use prefabricated, lightweight panels that contain the concrete formwork and reinforcing steel, arriving site ready to be filled with locally procured concrete, producing a cast in place, jointless superstructure that is self supporting during assembly and eliminates bearings, tie downs, and below span work. This method is a fast installation process that also reduces field manhours, need for skilled labor, large cranes, dewatering, and temporary shoring. The prefabricated modular CIP bridge system gives complete onsite quality control over final fit and finish to the contractor. It includes an 8-inch concrete deck and can be supplied with integral abutments compatible with precast or conventional CIP wing walls. The deck can be hand screeded or mechanically finished with a Bid-well machine. The prefabricated modular CIP bridge system is delivered complete with onsite installation support, shop drawings, AASHTO-verified & PE stamped design drawings, and load rating report. The contract will be awarded based on the base bid plus the lowest of Alternative 1 and Alternative 2. Plans and Proposal Cost: $25.00 by check payable to “Town of Albion”. Following payment, plans and proposal will be emailed to you. Plans and proposal books are only available for purchase at Albion Town Hall, 3665 Clarendon Road, Albion, New York 14411.
