Perimeter Gas Probe Replacement

The Project includes, without limitation, furnishing all necessary labor, materials, equipment and other incidental and appurtenant Work necessary to satisfactorily complete the Project, as more specifically described in specifications. This Work will be performed in strict conformance with the specifications, permits from regulatory agencies with jurisdiction, and applicable regulations. The quantity of Work to be performed and materials to be furnished are approximations only, being given as a basis for the comparison of Bids. Actual quantities of Work to be performed may vary at the discretion of the County.

The Project involves replacing environmental monitoring probes at Kiefer Landfill. Work to complete includes abandonment and destruction of two existing mulit-level gas probes, construction of two multi-level replacement probes adjacent to the destroyed probes, and completing associated permitting. Destruction of existing probes will include removing above-ground concrete pads and well boxes, overdrilling well casings to required depths, and returning the ground surface to original condition. Construction of new probes will involve drilling boreholes and building probes to depths shown on project documents. New concrete pads and well boxes will be installed for the replacement probes.

One probe location is inside Keifer Landfill's main property adjacent to an access roadway. The second probe location is in an undeveloped field across Kiefer Boulevard from the Landfill's main property. The probe location across Kiefer Boulevard is inside the South Sacramento Habitat Conservation Plan (SSHCP) jurisdictional area. SSHCP permitting is not within the scope of this Project and will be completed by others, if necessary.

Local Enforcement Agency deadlines have been imposed for completing construction of the two replacement probes. Both replacement probes shall be constructed by March 22, 2204.
