On September 16th, 2020, Hurricane Sally made landfall as a Category 2 Hurricane near Gulf Shores, Alabama with sustained winds of 105 mph and gusts over 120 mph. The Hurricane caused extensive wind, flooding and storm surge damage in areas of Escambia County Florida. Sally was an extremely slow-moving storm which advanced at 2 mph and made landfall moving at 3 mph. Rainfall amounts in Escambia County from 7 am September 14th through 7am September 17th ranged from 12.74” to 24.88”.
