Paratransit and non-medical transportation RFP for San Mateo County Health

County Health (Aging and Disability Services, Behavioral Health and Recovery Services Division, Correctional Health Services, Family Health Services and Psychiatric Emergency Services (PES) and Inpatient Psychiatric Services (3AB) of the San Mateo Medical Center (SMMC) 2A, 2B, ICU needs paratransit services to be provided for its clients with court, inter-facility, and medical appointments. Transportation shall be primarily from board and care facilities, client residences, acute care psychiatric facilities, inpatient hospitals, and skilled nursing facilities in San Mateo County, and/or state hospitals to court facilities. Services provided shall be either paratransit services or taxi services.

The main goal for this service is to:

• Provide safe transportation for clients to arrive at their destination.
• Provide timely transportation with punctual pick-up and arrival time.
• Accommodate basic medical needs such as wheel-chair needs.

San Mateo County Health (Health) prevents illness from occurring and provides services to vulnerable populations to help them be well.

This contract will service all clients from the participating departments with their paratransit needs. The contract is estimated to be three years with the possibility of a two-year extension. The estimated rides per month is approximately 50 rides.
