DHS is seeking appropriately qualified vendors to operate a Supportive Employment Shelter at a location in 111 Sunken Garden Loop, New York, NY 10035.
DHS’ overall goals and objectives with respect to this procurement are to provide safe and cost-effective emergency shelter where an episode of homelessness is unavoidable and to assist clients who become homeless to move towards permanency in less than 60 days.
DHS intends to enter into a contract with a vendor who will offer a safe and cost-effective shelter program and will assist clients to move rapidly towards permanency. For the purposes of this procurement, permanency is defined as living in a stable residence in the community with or without support services (based on the client’s needs) and with access to economic resources provided by employment, entitlements, public or other benefits and/or assistance from family that will reasonably ensure that the client will not return to homelessness.
