The Department of Homeless Services (DHS) is seeking appropriately qualified vendors to operate the Rose McCarthy Residence, a Tier II City-owned residence for families with children, which consists of two buildings in the borough of Brooklyn. The mission of DHS is to prevent homelessness when possible and to provide short-term, emergency shelter for individuals and families who have no other housing options available. Tier II residences, which operate in accordance with New York State C o d es, Ru l es a n d R eg u lat i o n s, Title 18 , P a r t 9 0 0 ( 1 8 N Y CRR 9 00 ) , p r o v i d e te m p o r ary h o u si n g acc om mo d a ti o n s a n d s o cial ser v i ces to ho m e l ess f a m ilies un til p e r m a n ent h ou si n g altern a ti v es b e c o m e a v ai l a b le.
