ADDENDUM #3 - OYSTER CREEK BOARDWALK REPLACEMENT
To: All Interested Quoters
Quoters are hereby notified that this Addendum shall be made a part of the above named quote documents. The following items are issued
to add to, modify, and clarify the quote documents. These items shall have the same force and effect as the original quote documents. Quote
Forms, to be submitted on the specified date, shall conform with the additions, deletions and revisions listed herein.
ITEM #1 CLARIFICATION:
1. Site Access and Equipment Restrictions: Access to the project site is available through the designated access point. Contractors
shall limit equipment and vehicles to those smaller than ten-wheel vehicles due to site access constraints.
2. Existing Pile Removal: The Contractor shall remove and properly dispose of all existing piles associated with the boardwalk
structure. This requirement applies even though not explicitly depicted on the plans. The pilings are about 5 feet deep.
3. Updated Decking Fasteners Requirement:
* Revise the construction plans page 7 of 9 to require the use of stainless-steel screws for all decking attachments in lieu
of S.S ringshank nails.
* Nail-fastened decking will not be accepted.
4. Permitting Requirements: The County has secured applicable environmental exemptions associated with this project, including
exemptions from SWFWMD and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers permitting requirements. The Contractor shall be responsible for
obtaining required local permits, such as applicable County permits.
5. Staging Area: The approved staging area is identified on the attached site map below.
6. Mangrove Impacts: No mangrove trimming or removal is necessary for this project.
7. Pile Load Baring Test: Pile Load Baring Test will not be needed.
8. Decking Configuration: Boardwalk decking shall consist of square-edge decking.
9. Pedestrian Safety: Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) is not required for this project. However, the Contractor shall provide appropriate
cones, caution tape, and signage as necessary to secure the work area and prevent pedestrian access during construction activities.
10. Pressure-Treated Lumber Requirements: Contractors shall refer to the original construction plans and specifications:
* 6x6 Pilings 2.5 CCA, AWPA C3 & C18
* 4x6 Pile Caps 0.6 CCA, AWPA C2 & C18
* 4x6 Stringers 0.4 CCA, AWPA C2 & C18
Quoters are required to acknowledge receipt of this addendum on their quote forms. All other terms and conditions of the original quote and
contract documents remain the same.
