PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that the following Ordinances were submitted in writing, introduced, read by title and passed on first reading at a meeting of the Township Committee of the Township of Millburn, in the County of Essex on Tuesday, October 21, 2025. The ordinances will be considered for final passage and adoption at the public hearings held at a meeting beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at the Millburn Education Center, 434 Millburn Avenue, Millburn, New Jersey when and where or at such time and place to which said meeting may be adjourned, all persons interested will be given an opportunity to be heard concerning said ordinance. The Millburn Education Center will open for this meeting beginning at 6:45PM and details on the meeting and agenda may be located at town hall, on our website

ORDINANCE NO. 2721-25
ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER VII “TRAFFIC”
OF THE REVISED GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE TOWNSHIP OF MILLBURN
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: The proposed amendment to the Chapter VII “Traffic” code of Millburn’s general code is to establish several recommendations of the Millburn Police Traffic Bureau and Parking Ad Hoc Committee. These changes include the adjustment of parking on Old Short Hills Rd. across from Millburn Middle School, adding stops signs to West Road, Essex Street at Millburn Ave and at the intersection of South Terr. and Hobart Road. In addition, fifteen (15) minute parking will be added to Whittingham Terr.
ORDINANCE NO. 2722-25
AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND SUPPLEMENT THE REVISED GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE TOWNSHIP OF MILLBURN, CHAPTER III “POLICE REGULATIONS”, ARTICLE 3-8 “CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY MITIGATION”
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: the purpose of this Ordinance is to amend Article 3-8 “Construction Activity Mitigation”, to clarify when construction activity can take place and by whom with the intent of this ordinance revision to ensure that homeowners have the ability to perform work at their homes or permanent residence on Sundays and legal holidays, but that no redeveloper, paid professional or hired contractor shall engage in construction activity in the Township on Sundays or legal holidays. In addition, further clarification and requirements for the placement of a temporary construction fence to ensure compliance when large additions or demolition take place on a property.
