PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that the following Ordinances were submitted in writing, introduced, read by title and passed on first reading at a meeting of the Township Committee of the Township of Millburn, in the County of Essex on Tuesday, February 3, 2026. The ordinances will be considered for final passage and adoption at the public hearing held at a meeting beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at the Millburn Education Center, 434 Millburn Avenue, Millburn, New Jersey when and where or at such time and place to which said meeting may be adjourned, all persons interested will be given an opportunity to be heard concerning said ordinances. The Millburn Education Center will open for this meeting beginning at 6:45PM and details on the meeting and agenda may be located at town hall, on our website

ORDINANCE NO. 2729-26
AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND SUPPLEMENT THE REVISED GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE TOWNSHIP OF MILLBURN, CHAPTER II “ADMINISTRATION” ARTICLE V “BOARDS, COMMITTEES AND COMMISSIONS”
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: the purpose of this Ordinance is to establish the Township’s Flood Mitigation Advisory Committee in the Township’s General Ordinances. This ordinance will codify the flood mitigation advisory committee, which has been previously established each year by resolution. Under this ordinance a maximum membership is set as well as terms for those serving on the committee. In addition, guidance is provided for the organizational structure and meetings for this committee. By establishing this through ordinance, the Committee will ensure its establishment as a necessary committee to be used for years to come.

AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND SUPPLEMENT THE REVISED GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE TOWNSHIP OF MILLBURN, CHAPTER II “ADMINISTRATION” ARTICLE V “BOARDS, COMMITTEES AND COMMISSIONS”
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: the purpose of this Ordinance is to establish a residency requirement for all volunteers serving on an advisory board in the Township. This ordinance would require that those volunteers that are no longer a bona fide resident prior to September 1 of a given year resign from any advisory board that they are serving. Additionally, should someone cease to be a bona fide resident after September 1 of a given year then they will be required to resign as of December 31 of that year. This ordinance would not affect those board or commissions established through statue and exemptions would be provided for military service.
