Background
LVMWD (The District) provides drinking water, wastewater treatment, recycled water, and composting for approximately 70,000 residents that live in Calabasas, Agoura Hills, Westlake Village, Hidden Hills, and unincorporated areas of Los Angeles County, which includes areas in West Hills, Chatsworth, and the Santa Monica Mountains. There are approximately 22,000 residential and commercial customers with metered water service and sewer connections. Triunfo Sanitation District (TSD) within Ventura County is a joint venture partner with LVMWD for wastewater and recycled water services. The Triunfo Joint Powers Authority (JPA) was formed between LVMWD and TSD in 1964 to construct, operate and maintain a joint wastewater treatment system for their respective service areas, primarily within the Malibu Creek Watershed. The JPA facilities include the Tapia Water Reclamation Facility (Tapia), the Rancho Las Virgenes Composting facilities (Rancho), approximately 60 miles of trunk sewers, and a recycled water transmission and distribution system. The District also maintains a potable water distribution system that includes a number of pump stations, pressure reducing stations, and miles of pipeline of various material.
This Contract will include the as-needed pipeline repair, installation, and relocation of various types of pipeline in the District's potable water distribution system, recycled water distribution system, trunk sewer/collections system, and at the District's Tapia, Rancho, and Westlake Facilities. This Contract will also include pavement restoration and concrete work. This contract will meet the public works contracting requirements of a formal bidding process.
This contract does not guarantee any minimum of work to the selected bidder. The contract will be awarded for an intial term of one year with 4 one year renewals (up to 5-years). The maximum dollar amount of all task orders issued under this contract per contract year shall not exceed $2,100,000. The assignment of tasks under this agreement is at the sole discretion of the District and the District will not compensate the selected contractor for any costs related to proposing for the contract, or for gathering and furnishing required documentation, insurance certificates, bonds, and other documentation required to establish eligibility to perform the work. All work and compensation in connection with this agreement must be expressly authorized by the District through formal request or task order.
