Title: On-Call Abatement Services for the Code Enforcement Division
Addenda: 1
Release Date: 8/28/2024
Due Date: 10/18/2024
The Code Enforcement Division, in collaboration with other city departments, is dedicated to managing Hayward's future development. Its primary goal is to ensure the community's economic and environmental health, and most importantly, to maintain a high quality of life for its residents. The division's work is instrumental in supporting the City Council's Priorities, particularly in the development of a safe, clean, and green community. A well-maintained community often experiences a reduction in petty crime, maintains high property values, and attracts further investment. The Code Enforcement Division ensures that all property owners adhere to local, state, and federal laws and ordinances, as well as community standards in maintaining their properties.
The City of Hayward's Code Enforcement Division is looking for skilled and qualified contractor(s) with specific training and experience in performing various abatement services. These terms, conditions, and specifications align with those in this Request for Proposals (RFP).
For this proposal, the objectives are to:
- Perform weed abatement
- Secure vacant properties
- Remove and properly dispose of rubbish from properties
- Perform services within timelines of city staff requests for emergency and non-emergency abatements
- Maintain records of work performed and all related correspondence from City staff and provide invoices for services rendered within 48 hours of project completion
The City is governed by a City Council / City Manager form of government. The City Council is made up of six members plus a mayor that serves as the head of the City Council. The City Council appoints a City Manager to oversee the City’s 12 departments. Additional information regarding the City of Hayward may be obtained at: http://www.hayward-ca.gov/about.shtm
