REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS (RFQ)
The City of Reading (“City”) is initiating a procurement process for the delivery of Older Adults Home Modification Program ';hereinafter referred to as the “Project”.
There is no pre-bid meeting for this bid.
Specifications and Bid Forms for the above project can be obtained herein.
The City of Reading reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids, and to accept or reject any part of a bid, as may be in the public interest.
Release of Information: The City will not release information submitted in response to this RFQ during the evaluation process or prior to an award. After all respondents have been notified of the award, respondents’ RFQ responses will be considered public documents in their entirety. Only sections submitted that are marked “proprietary” and approved as such by the City’s Department of Law will be considered redacted in accordance with the City of Reading’s public information policy.
The Request for Qualifications is to gather pricing from qualified Contractor's for said project. The City of Reading reserves the right to award a single contract for the total requirement of the RFQ or award multiple contracts, in any combination that best serves the interest of the City.
The City is seeking bids for multiple general contractors that are licensed, bonded and insured. The scope of work will consist of installation of adaptive home use equipment, and other limited mobility home modifications. The contract program is for the modification of ninety (90) units over a thirty-six (36)-month period for each individual unit. If selected, successful Bidders will be invited to view an individual unit and provide a quote/proposal to perform the modification of individual units. Successful Bidders are not guaranteed that they will be assigned any work as the City reserves the right to assign work at its discretion. Successful Bidders shall be licensed, bonded and insured and shall follow all local, state and federal laws, regulations and codes.
In the event any a successful Bidder is assigned work, and the quote/proposal exceeds $5,000 the contractor shall provide payment and performance bonds in the amount of 100% of the quote/proposal prior to commencement of work.
The contractor shall work with a team of licensed Occupational Therapists to ensure all work meets the unit's needs.
