Old Town Hall Preservation / Exterior Restoration & Accessible Entrances

The building is listed in the State and National Register of Historic Places and the project is being partially funded by a grant from the Massachusetts Preservation Projects Fund though the Massachusetts Historical Commission. All work must be performed in compliance with the “Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties.” The estimated cost of construction is approximately $1.7 million.

Interested Bidders are encouraged to attend a Pre-Bid Conference to review the existing site and building at 32 Derby Square at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, November 7, 2024.

Filed Sub-Bids are required for the following categories: Masonry, Miscellaneous Metals, Waterproofing, Roofing & Flashing, Painting, and Electrical. Filed Sub-bids are due no later than 12:00 Noon on Thursday, November 14, 2024. Sub-bids will be opened publicly and the results will be distributed to all Plan Holders.

General Bidders must be certified by the Division of Capital Asset Management & Maintenance (DCAMM) in the “General Building” category. General Bids are due no later than 12:00 Noon on Thursday, November 21, 2024. General Bids will be opened publicly where noted below.

All bids must be submitted in accordance with the “Invitation to Bid” in the Project Manual and be delivered to the City of Salem, Office of the Purchasing Agent, 93 Washington Street, 2nd Floor, Salem MA 01970.
